March 11 Hello, and welcome to dear baby Everett! He and Mama get to go home today to begin his life
at 3910 Arsenal Street. Many happy years ahead to all.<BR><BR>
Danny
and family are taking off for the west coast this week for Spring Break. I forget all the places he told me they will
visit, but I think it begins in LA.<BR><BR>
Kind of a cold, dreary
day in AV, but at 200 Assembly Lane things are looking up. If you haven't heard the white house on Thompson Lane is
for sale. Very costly though, for AV, 215 K. Doubt if it will sell quickly. The Bs had their first tea afternoon
with about 10 cars going up and then down. Cost is $35/person for little sandwiches, tea, and a little petit four.
Hmm, no wonder only ten cars. The new DG in Pilot Knob is almost ready to open. Still, it seems very strange that
the repaired one in Ironton is open now, and the brand new one is a mile away. Rather strange. That's the town
news. Oh, someone was shooting a rifle from camp at 1:15 this morning. Over ten shots, I heard. Weird.
3/24 Morning. I would have typed sooner, but was caught up in sweeping up piles of dead ladybugs, or ladybirds, as the old
rhyme says.
Happy party day for Everett. He is meeting friends and family today.
I went to Dollar General for the first time in nine years yesterday. It is so clean, with everything orderly. The only thing
a bit strange was the rather dim lighting. I was pleased to see an office section. I found sticky notes and bubble wrappers
and copy paper. The ladies in charge were nice and friendly too.
My wheat is planted with straw covering it. Now it just needs a little rain and it may pop up.
Last week Katie fixed the sound on my tv system, not really tv, but where I watch movies on roku. She also set up my printer
so I can copy or print from my laptop. Thanks, Little Miss.
April 1 Evening. Hope all had a good day. Lots of visitors were at Mass this morning. We had a lunch of ham, potato salad,
salad, deviled eggs, PH rolls, as for dessert, i had made choc cake, but kids had sampled their baskets and were not much
interested in dessert.
Anyway rain prevails now. K and I are watching "Cranford", Tommy and Ant went back to St. L.
6/10/18 Happy 2 to Genevieve! 2 is such a cute little age.
Very humid in AV today. I'm trying to do this on the side porch. Had rain yesterday, but today sun. Everything is steamy.
Last week when I went to the ER at Iron Co. Hospital, I was again impressed by the kindness and quickness of the service.
I've been to the ER 3x for myself, and each time the staff gets an A from me.
The grass on this 3 acres is nice and short, thanks to K and Senan. Maybe today I can plant the 25 bulbs Arbor Day Foundation
sent me for free for a donation I sent them. Of course nothing will bloom this year, but if the squirrels leave them alone,
maybe next spring pretty flowers will pop up.
I'm supposed to get new neighbors soon. The brick house has been empty for about 3 or 4 years, but soon the Bs daughter and
her family are moving in. It's kind of creepy in the winter having no neighbors.
I will write more later
this p.m., if I can gather my wits.
6/11/18 Hello. Forgot to write. Has anyone heard anything about Jerry?
Sorting books this morning was my big job for the day. I actually have the sorting table clear. Friday a pickup and K's
van will deliver the remainder of books. Whoever wants to take books from pre-school to young adult is most welcome to take
whatever you wish.
It's been a hot June so fsr. I wonder if July will be cool?
6/13/18 Hello . Humid today. PA is sitting is sitting in the window on the side porch watching me type. When not looking
at me, she is looking at the trees where the birds are having a morning chorus practice.
Let's see, Wednesday already. K and Mr. Biggs will be here in two days. I hope all the books will be able to fit against
the wall in the office. I don't want to put any more boxes in the first room, since I have to sort through about ten boxes
still there. We are so lucky to have all these nice books.
I wonder if Tiss will buy the cube today. Haven't heard from her this a.m., so maybe she is buying right now. Ha.
6/14 Flag Day. Happy Birthday to Henry!
June is half over almost. The last load of books is coming tomorrow. Thanks to St. James for them.
I had a visitor. She was Linda, cousin of the B people, who lived here about a year in 2007. She is from Tulsa and had to
return when one daughter had severe post partum depression. She joined the Peace Corps after that, spend 2 years in Jamaica
working with peoplen health education. Dad and I liked her. It was nice to see her again.
June 22 Morning Molly is coming next Thurs eve. Great news! Dashie is finished with Kg. On to first grade.
K cleaned and tidied the girls' room for the advent of the Killeen family. I took a look at frog and he shows 90+ again next
week. Ronan takes the boys to the Farmington water park usually.
Tommy can't come for 4th of J since it is Wed, so he will appear next Sat.
7/8 Morning. Think Molly and boys are visiting at 525 now, after dropping Daddy at the airport. He has jobs all week in
NY. He may be back in MO in July filming a true crime documentary.
I swept the porches, getting rid of the Harry debris, or most of it. Looks fairly good. The house is ready to paint, the wooden
parts, but I am not rushing into it. I want to get someone reliable. It is so different using this keyboard as I am so used
to texting. Thanks Little Miss Katie for getting this set up.
Lily was dropped at Camp Renewal in Fredericktown this morning where she will be a counselor this week. The boys go to camp
in the morning.
I really need to go to Hobby in the morning. I have the fish quilt for Senan ready to sandwich, but need batting. Also a
few other sewing notions are needed.
A visit to the Mennonites would be sooo good. I hope they have delicious heirloom tomatoes like last time. I could live
on tomatoes all summer long with bread dipped in melted butter, and perhaps a hunk of cheese.

In the Sixties there was a string of instrumental hits like Rebel Rouser, Wonderland by Noght and Summer Place.
Let's hear some of them.
This is Telstar, inspired by the first years of space exploration.
